Hobbies and Interests - Meet thePastor

I love all kinds of stuff. I am very interested in Science and especially love Astronomy. It boggles my mind how big the Universe is and how little we understand of it. I have a very large telescope and look through it whenever I get the chance.

I also love aviation and one of my secret dreams is to build and fly my own airplane one day. I just need to talk my wife into the idea. I recently started my pilots license and hope to be able to use aviation in my life for the Cause of Christ.

I also love to travel. I have been to Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Greece, Honduras, and India. When I go, I take the gospel with me. Most of my overseas travel has been to share Christ. What a great way to go. I am really anxious to go back to India. There are so many hungry people there. It is almost overwhelming.

Finally my greatest hobby is all my girls. I am surrounded by women in my life! They are my little helpers even when they get in the way. Because of them I get to do all kinds of crazy fun stuff. Right now I am building a custom dollhouse for our oldest daughter Hannah. It's a little harder than you think. My oldest girl is my wife and she is a blast. I married her because she has a great sense of humor and everyone loves her, but most of all me.

My wife and I felt the call to come to the Tri-Valley area in the New Year of 2004. From that point on we spent an exciting year planning for what we desired to be an energetic, dynamic, and relevant church community that would help people connect with God. If you desire to attend a church where God is the most exciting thing going on, then you have come to the right place. It is our hope that you will decide to make the vibrant and powerful community of Victory Point a part of your life.

My wonderful wife (Darla) and I have been married for an exciting 11 years of ministry and family. We have three children, Hannah (8 yrs), Holly (5 yrs), and Heidi (1 1/2 years) who are bright rays of sunshine in our lives. We are so excited to live in Livermore, a place that we now call home.

Our Vision - Our Vision

Without vision, success in God's kingdom is a dim hope. But when people open their hearts to the potential of God's plan of world evangelism, the possibilities are endless. Victory Point desires to pursue the following God honoring vision:

• Build a church of life changing influence in a culture of religious mistrust by presenting the gospel in a relevant fashion while maintaining biblical accuracy.

• Receive 1200 visitors for our Sunday celebration service during the first two years.

• Impact the lives of over 20,000 people in the Tri-Valley area during the next 30 years.

• Establish people in their walk with God through are worship services, children's ministry, small groups, training programs, and special events. The church is a community of believers that when united together becomes an unstoppable presence of influence.

• Influence our world by investing in lasting evangelism around our community, our country and our world by exploring creative ways in which to involve are membership in the process. This will include special classes designed to prepare the believer to communicate the "Good News" in accordance with their God given personality and special gifts and talents. The church will also host exciting and relevant evangelism events designed to support members as they share their faith. We desire an active membership that will engage the whole world with the Good News of Jesus Christ.

• Teach and Equip people to spread the gospel by developing a training program and school that will equip people of the church and ministry to strategically plant new works around the world. This will include both temporary and long term projects that will encompass people from a variety of ministries, occupations, and backgrounds.

• Construct a building centrally located in the Tri-Valley that will accommodate our growth for the future and allow us to minister to the community with special formats including services, special events, classes, prayer time, small groups, and leadership functions.

With God's Help and Guidance we have been challenged to change the world for His Glory. This is the vision of Victory Point.

God
We believe in the one ever-living, eternal God: infinite in power, holy in nature, attributes and purpose; and possessing absolute, indivisible deity. This one true God has revealed Himself as Father, through His Son in redemption, and as the Holy Spirit dwelling within us.

The Bible
We believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God, a divine revelation from God to man. We accept the Scriptures as the final authority in all matters of faith and conduct.

Jesus Christ
We believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, born of a virgin; that he lived a sinless life, was crucified on Calvary for our sins, and bodily rose from the grave; and that he has been exalted to the throne of God where He is the only mediator between God and man. We believe that through his death and life we have personal salvation and power for victorious living.

Salvation
We believe that all men have sinned and stand in need of redemption, which is obtained through the new birth by faith in the shed blood of the Lord Jesus Christ. Those repenting of sin and being born again become children of God and heirs with Christ.

The Holy Spirit
We believe that the Holy Spirit is active in the world today and that the baptism of the Holy Spirit, with His accompanying gifts, is the privilege of all New Testament believers.

The Church
We believe the Church has been "called out" of the world to be a habitation of God through the Spirit. As the body of Christ on earth, the church offers hope to mankind. The church is one body made up of many members, diverse in their gifts and calling of the Holy Spirit.

The Second Coming
We believe in the pre-millennial return of Jesus Christ to receive his bride, the church, unto Himself. At his coming, we believe the dead in Christ will be resurrected from the grave. We believe in Christ's millennial reign upon the earth.
